![]() You can image at a faster fps rate if you choose to use 10bit ADC (high speed mode). Read noise will drop to under 2e-, while dynamic range will remain at 13 stops. HCG (high conversion gain) mode, which reduces read noise to even lower levels at higher gain without loss to dynamic range, is automatically enabled when the gain setting is 120 or higher. If I split the CFA based on each CFA channel (1, 2, 3, 4), and auto-stretch them, the noise is random. The Read Noise of the ASI294 cameras is special. In the same image, you can also see the auto-stretched image of the BIAS i took with ASI294. 6.6 Analog to Digital Converter (ADC) The ASI294 camera can records in 14bit ADC and 10bit ADC. The image is bayered but still the noise is random. ![]() It’s an AR-AR coated BK7 glass, diameter is 32mm and 2mm thick. One final option is the QHY163c at about 900 pounds from modern astronomy:īasically the OSC version of the same chip used in the ASI1600mm pro, ASI used to use the same chip but discontinued it in favor of the 294.which has some issues as per the thinks above. ASI294 Manual 6.5 Protect Window There is a protect window before the sensor of ASI294 camera. Mount is an Ioptron ZEQ25GT on a 5.5' mini pier and 2' Tripod. Guide scope and camera is a QHY5L-II M and QHY Mini Guide Scope. 85x FF/FR with exactly 55mm of backspacing. I would be getting a QHY168c myself as that camera is widely used with good results and has the same sensor as the 071mc pro at a lower cost. Imaged through a 31mm Astronomik L2 Filter for its UV/IR cut (in a ZWO mini filterwheel), on a Skywatcher 100 ED Pro with the matching Skywatcher. As my filters a quite dust free I dont need to take them for all filters.Īnd in respect to the 294mc calibration issue read this: According to specs on ZWO website and this is chart for their ASI2600: Now if you look at the read noise line for ZWO and above for QHY - blue line (mode 1) - you will see some similarity both are around 3e (ZWO one a bit more) and then fall of below 1.5e (around 1.45 or something like that). No as above I only took flats for luminescence. The 071 has no amp glow but the 294 does ? Where did you find this info as I’m unable to find it ? Im assuming you took flats for each filter etc ? I think that the ASI294 is more sensitive, but its smaller and the 071 is easier to work with having no amp glow. No Flat darks (must try these) Above masters are generated as per Warren Keller’s notes in ‘Inside PixInsight’. Generate Darks circa 20 subs (use subs at same duration and temp as lights) Generate flats circa 25 subs. ![]() Thanks for your input Adam ! That’s an awesome image for so little integration time. Also there have been reports that the ASI294mc has some issues with background calibration. On at 08:12, fwm891 said: My Workflow with ASI294MC Pro.
